Hi. Just finalising the deal on our new motorhome and have been offered the Sentinel Alarm and Tracker (Mod S5). Been looking online and can only see that the S5 is a subscription based item. However the dealer has told me it's included in the cost of tracker. Is he right. / Also can we sleep with dogs while armed.?

We have one of these fitted, It is subscription, but I think you can get a lifetime package, maybe that's what the dealer is referring to.
It is possible to turn off the internal sensor at night, or if leaving pets in.

If it is Moving Intelligence, our initial one year subscription was included. You then have options to pay annually, or other periods up to lifetime subscription.
We can arm ours in pet mode by initially arming it and the pressing the arm button again.
We had some teething problems that were mainly down to the initial install by the dealership. Once we spoke with MI we got them sorted and added a few extra sensors to it. Since then, it has been faultless.
You can speak to MI directly. They were very helpful to us.
Good luck and enjoy your MH.

Hi, Thanks for that. Do you think it's a good package. He offered alarm and tracker package. I shall need to clarify the subscription with him. I have seen 12months included and then pay. However we could just not pay tracker and depend on alarm I think. Cheers

Thanks for that. Gives a bit of reassurance. Any idea how I can speak to MI direct. Cheers

We have the package and lifetime subscription and we are happy with it, I'm not sure that you could separate the tracker from the alarm subscription though and why not pay for tracking as that is what finds the vehicle if it has gone walkabouts.

Great. Many thanks. Cheers

One thing that disappointed us when we picked the MH up was that there was no LED to indicate the fact that we had an alarm on it. Our dealership's installer said that it could not be done. We arranged for the extra sensors to be fitted by MI's mobile engineer for our area and asked him about it. It was a simple addition for him to do and the LED placed in the front grille pulses when armed. If you are able to cover the costs you would be well served getting the full system as funflair has mentioned.
Good luck

PS if you have not finalised the deal why not ask for an increased subscription? Shy bairns and all that....

Well just spoke to MI. A chap called Callum. Very helpful and he was able to explain in detail what you get and how subscription works. Will speak with dealer now and get it sorted. This does seem to do everything it says on the box too. Cheers

We had it on our new one last year, we had the Ultimate version, very pleased with it

We had an MI S7 tracker/alarm in our previous motorhome.
We now have a PVC which has a MI S5 tracker/alarm fitted.
Both work very well but I preferred the S7.
The S5 has ADR (driver recognition) which means that you have a second fob (in addition to the normal fob for the alarm)
If you turn on the ignition without having this fob in your possession, it will trigger an alert.
Even switching on the ignition to put a window up for example will do it.
For security reasons the second fob should not be attached to the same keyring as the alarm fob or left in the van.
It is a bit of a pain to always remember about the second fob.
Unfortunately some insurance companies now insist on a S5 tracker so you don't really have a choice.
We pay by dd which is £15 per month.

If you can still get insurance, depends on value but many insurers require tracker

My dealer fitted this system and also paid for the lifetime membership. Mine has a flashing LED on the dashboard but if you have screens fitted it cannot be seen. I’ve been very pleased with it, especially as it cost me nothing 😜

If you want one on the front grille I can PM you the details of the mobile engineer for the North Easy who did ours.

Also have the S5 system and whilst I appreciate the worth of the fob, it can be a pain when you just nip out to the MH and for some reason turn the ignition on, triggering the alert (no audible alarm), even worse when you’ve left your mobile inside the house so you don’t get the alert and it cascades. Probably the original though was to carry the fob in you wallet, but these days I rarely carry my wallet. My solution so far, is to separate the ignition key from the other keys.

With some you can make your phone the fob, we still have the fob but dont use it, mines a scorpion S5

I was meaning the ADR fob, though enabling the phone app to be used to set the alarm for night/pet mode would be a useful feature 🤔

I've done that but didn't realise the engine then won't start without it unlike my old one with a Vodafone automotive one.
