Thinking of going to the Scottish highlands mid September. Will the dreaded midges be still there?

Weather dependent but possibly.

They're nothing to worry about. :)

It's not my video and I think this shows something exceptional and they are not normally this bad but I would strongly recommend a head net especially if going to the west coast.

We live in the South West of Scotland and to be honest hardly seen a midge this year. Only found them a little troublesome one day on the raiders road, in July.

You should have been at the C&MC site at Garlieston in May. Half an hour out with the dog and covered in midge bites and a clegg bite!:crying:
Had to retire to the pub for sympathy and treatment!(y)

At least there was a decent pub handy!

The little ‘like, love star, info’ tags you can put on posts??

Well, I looked and there isn’t a ‘devils spawn child’ or equivalent one For that post!!

That was one of those photos that just made every prt of my body want to run away. T’was the equivalent of an arachnophobe seeing a photo of two hungry giant tarantulas on acid racing in their direction. Mega shudder…

We're off next Thursday to start the SW300.
Local knowledge is all!

Any recommendations greatfully accepted.
