Hi All. Sailing back from Santander to Plymouth later this month (June 2022). 8m motorhome. Looking for recommendations where to stay the night before we travel or for a few nights perhaps on a campsite. Has to be dog friendly. We will also need to find a vet. Has anyone stayed on the ferry dock the night before. Thanks in advance for any help and advice

Ive stayed at these two - both recommended

We’re doing the same route. Is the route to the ferry pretty obvious and what’s the traffic usually like? We have to be checked in by 2.00pm. Just working out what time we need to allow. TIA

stayed here a few times Surfers beach so always some vans around. Free, about 20 minutes or so from Santander. Great beach for dog walking, cycle ways, all sorts. Popular in the summer. cafe on site [not always open though]

Route is obvious, but has changed last ?4 years so follow the signs. There's a right hand turn just after the traffic lights to watch for.
Get there earlier and try the fish restaurants by the marina - Calle marques de la Ensenada - recommended.
Traffic usually fine, it's the disembarkation that the locals probably don't like.

We stayed a couple of nights at Playa Joel which is a nice enough site. It’s in Noja which from memory is about 45 minutes from Santander. Traffic isn’t usually too bad but you will hit some in Santander

I have not caught the ferry but when I stopped nearby there were plenty of campers staying here to catch the ferry. Very nice site, ACSI and great location for visiting things close by on the local bus, particularly Comillas and San Vicente.
