Salcombe

The park and ride is closed at the moment - that is there are no buses. But you can park there and walk down to Salcombe on foot.

Sorry I cant help you there! no idea

I used to live in nearby Kingsbridge but I never thought of taking a MH to Salcombe. Do you know the place, it's more like Polperro than Looe but like both of those places it will be rammed at the moment. There are a few campsites around the area but if they will have room is doubtful but you could but ask.

You used to be able to overnight in the car park above the leisure centre in Kingsbridge but I think they've banned it now but you could be lucky for one or two nights. You can get a bus from Kingsbridge to Salcombe.

Last time we used Salcombe park and ride it had a height barrier, worth checking. No overnighting allowed there.
Quite a walk back up the hill as well, fine if you’re fit!
It’s very busy down here at the moment with little space to park in the towns, especially for a large motorhome.

Out of season we have had a naughty but nice night in the town car park after a tour of the towns excellent pubs, but the no camping signs are up and I wouldn’t chance my arm this time of year.

Used the park and ride last week in the car. There were height restrictions in place - low enough to prevent motorhomes but I did see a couple of vw vans in there.

Was advised the parking in town by the coop fills up by 10 am during the summer so an early or late arrival would be the order of the day if you are trying to overnight there.

Salcombe was rammed so as an alternative perhaps a nearby campsite and cab or bike in? Or somewhere in kingsbridge which is nearby...

We went to Salcombe last year. It’s not really vehicle friendly, we had the car and struggled to park. It’s all pretty much about one street, which was full of people wandering about eating. We bought pasties for lunch but then took them back to the car and drove out of Salcombe to park and eat. The crowds of people in Salcombe wasn’t pleasant. We wouldn’t bother going again, especially not at present.

We gave up in our mh trying to drive there was a nightmare with parking and roads are very tight.
The nearest site we managed in our mh was start bay Camc, and also glampton, both nice but nowhere near salcombe.
For this part of Devon you need a car. ☹️
