Hi All,

I've just acquired a 2002 Swift Kon-tiki 645 which doesn't have a roll-out awning. I've added a Fiamma F45 to my previous Drifter before, but that was easy as it already had the mountings (the previous owner had removed the cassette).

For the Kon-tiki, is there any other option for mounting the awning or is bolting through the only sensible option?

I'm a little reticent to put holes in it, so just wondering if there's another way to do it, or if I just need to bite the bullet.

I'm keen to fit one one for general use, and also to attach our traditional awning to via the slot on the blind as there's nowhere else to attach it to on this van.

Would appreciate any advice.

Cheers,
S

I think all mountings are fixed through, the mounting bracket has to be fixed to something, I know they are also glued on but probably best to bolt through and make sure inside plates are large enough to spread the load so you don’t pull the side of the van off.
