I’m hoping to get a bit of feedback from anyone using remote battery monitoring.

This is for my daughters van. She wants/needs to monitor both starter and leisure batteries remotely.

Victron have some capability but would be expensive to install. It seems to be limited to Wi-Fi range.
https://chargemetrix.com/shop/product/van-battery-monitor-kit/ also have some good stuff for around £120 plus monthly subs, SIM-based so very versatile.

Any other suggestions, recommendations, negative experiences?

TIA

If you start searching for Victron VRM - Victron Remote Monitoring - Venus OS running on a Raspberry Pi. I haven't implemented it but it is something on the to do list. Would want to be reasonably technical. You could also point a Neos camera at a Victron BM set to auto scroll. Not a very elegant solution but cheap and very quick to set up if she has a BM712. Would require an always on Wifi hotspot. There is going to be a SIM card somewhere in the equation.
