Any Funsters stayed within the general area of Falmouth?
We want to park up there at a site as a base to explore Cornwall and visit old childhood holiday spots as well as some of the tourist bits.

9.75 Metre RV, travelling September when it will obviously be quieter.
Looking for personal recommendations rather than browsing the many sites of various apps.

Thanks all.

Only stayed at Newquay and St.Ives so no help.

If I don't find something suitable on Falmouth side of the peninsula I will consider going to the northern side so tell me where you stayed that you liked?

Carnon Downs site. Tween Truro and Falmouth, Bus at Gate, or within 50 metres, depends which way you are going.

Agree with Carnon Downs C&MC.
We were there a couple of weeks ago.
A number of large pitches well spaced out, eg

There's a basic bar on site and they sell pasties, baguettes and croissants.
Beefeater on the other side of the main road (not dog friendly).
Fish and chip and pizza vans on some nights. Wood fired pizza was very good.
Local bus timetable attached.
There's a £5 hop on hop off all day ticket available.

Do C&MC allow 9.7 metre 🤔
On automated web bookings most of their sites say 8 metre max....... BUT if you call they can often accommodate a few bigger rigs. They have to say 8M as not all pitches can take big buses and if 5 turned up the same day without warning and they only have 3 bigger pitches on site you can see the problem that would arise.

I used Looe C&MCC site with my "Concorde Charisma" .Bus stop outside ,good food & drink in the town. But i did use my " Smart 4/2 " for touring the areas.

Porth beach at Newquay, you need a pitch at the bottom of the site. Walk out of the site and across the road to the beach.
Hendra holiday park just outside Newquay
Carvynick down the road at Summercourt, used to have dedicated RV pitch's with two 16amp ehu's per pitch, and black and grey waste on your pitch.
St.Ives the rugby club has an Aire which we drove around in the car, it's all grass but was an option I thought, this while we stayed at Polmanter, but only because they didn't realize I was an RV when I booked. I don't know why they don't want RV's as they have pitch's easily big enough.

We've stayed on Carnon Downs. It's a lovely site and you'll have plenty of room for your motorhome. The facilities are excellent. The only downside is, it's not cheap.

Another site in Carnon Downs: Carnonwollas Touring Park a private site which has outstanding views with 25 pitches all fully serviced. A lot less damage to the wallet than the club site on the main A39 road.
Carnon Downs has a superb regular national bus system running to all towns around it. A highly stocked local ‘Spar’ with a great off license and as mentioned a Beefeater on the A39 junction.

Try Bissoe valley touring park. We've just spent the weekend there. On the north south mining trail if you like cycling/walking. Portreath 20 mins north by car, Falmouth 20 mins south by car.

We walked to Perranwell station, 45 mins, and caught the train to Falmouth for the day.

Nice and quiet site, only 17 pitches which are serviced.

Mevagissy, Tregarton park. 2 miles from mevagissy. About 35mins from Falmouth. Just spent nearly three weeks there on a CAMC rally. Family run, grandad, dad, nana cooks, grandkids in summer all work there. It has very spacious pitches, pool, tennis court. Very clean and they don’t kick the backside out of sundries, ie washing machines, takeaway food. It’s bar closes 7 pm. pitches are tiered so if on right side (left as come into site) a sea view is achievable. The other side your protected from winds. Generous play park for kids. They’re fully booked at mo, during half term but may have availability after next week.
