just discovered a dicky radiator switch on a ducato ,it basically switches the negative at 2 temps neither was working really .so i am thinking is it worth just backing in a manuel switch cos the consequences of overheating, possible new cyl head gasket stranded etc etc which it could have easily done are dire. And u would not have known anything about a dicky switch it until it happened so am thinking run a negative wire through switch to the relays then i can decide how hot engine needs to be .

You don't say what year but most have an overheat warning light. I'd simply replace the original which will give you two stages of fan cooling. And you can't forget to switch it on.

Mine was corroded connections, nothing wrong with the switch so whilst replacing them I also installed 2 x switched relays so I can turn them on inadvance of long climbs.
