Hi, we are at nedwood for the bank hols and anyone who is here knows it is heaving it down. All (literally) of our windows have started leaking.. it is soaking the inside of the van including the bed.

We have been out in the rain before and not had this and the leaking started one window at a time.

Can anyone suggest a temporary / emergency fix to get us through the weekend??

The water is coming into the cadette that holds the blinds and dripping off the flyscreen.

With the flyscreen closed you can see how wet it has got.

To those of you that might think this is a leaky old van ... Well maybe.. bit we just watched another window start leaking in front of our eyes.. went from dry to running water as we watched.. there is water running down the wall which has no signs of previous water staining.

Have the frames dropped by any chance? I had rain come in a window one day where in inspection the frame had dropped. A quick realign and all was well again.

I'm not sure much can be done in the wet. Gaffer tape won't stick.
You'll need to check the seals, it sounds like they could be perished and need replacing. I think you'll have to just keep mopping. Strange though that they all fail at once ?

Agree 100% with MikeD colour is not important "gaffa" or "gorilla" tape will do an excellent temporary job that will be easily
undone (this is also important) when repair time comes petrol will remove any left over glue later if required

Maybe the extra ordinary heat we have recently had my be a contributing factor as suggested (dropped frames)

Is it as bad if you where to open them just a little? Also check the top rubber seals if the are clogged up with moss type stuff?

It is the all failing at once that made me wonder. It is the weather side that is worst and we are on ramps so I wondered.. we have had very hot dry weather of course and this will be the longest spell of rain since.. so I guess maybe..

We are mopping and have the gas fire on full to try and dry out as we go.. another hour or so and the rain looks like it might ease....

If you can get hold of a tube of Stixall it will work even when wet! Sounds like the hot summer has buggered the seals.(y)(y)(y)

Do the windows have to come out? I had assumed it would be a trip to the caravan doctor when we get home for them to come out and be resealed.. if I can seal them myself that would be better.

On a (literally) brighter note..

You could remove and reseal them yourself .If you put it into your computer you will find a demonstration and details to follow. Not a difficult job if you take your time.
