Can anyone tell me what these cables with USB terminals might be for? I found them in my dashboard coolbox.

Probably to connect a USB stick, etc to the media player.
We've got three on ours but I routed them up to the top of the dashboard through the (not used) auto light sensor hole.

Edit : ps that's assuming there not just lying coiled up in the cool box!:giggle:

All three of ours are just standard USB power \ data connections to the back of our media unit.

Thanks for the replies so far. I’ll read up on Apple car play but I connected each of them to my iPhone and neither gave any charge. It would have been handy if at least one did when the ignition was turned off. So much needs to be charged via USB these days.

It'll only work when the radio is powered. Also, Apple Carplay / Android Auto requires a 'data' connection. Data connections are limited to about 5 watts of power over the USB cable, so it'll never charge your phone that quickly anyway. If a USB port is purely for charging, it's allowed to squirt several times more juice through the cable.

Thank you. Didn’t consider any link to the radio so didn’t fire that up when testing the cables.
