My son just encouraged me to download the polarsteps app for his and our forthcoming trip . It enables you to track your journey and build a photo album around it with diary etc . Plus you can share it on line with others . Huge advantage is that you don’t have to an internet connection all the time .

We used it on our last trip but found it to be clunky and unreliable. Most of the time it didn’t manage to get our location and wouldn’t accept manual location input.

I’ve used it for our last 3 trips and love it. The books that you can order at the end are superb quality and very reasonably priced.
