Since 1964 Gosh that makes me feel old.
Got plenty of passing places in my area too, the trouble is that some motorhomes travel in groups, then that group meets another one coming the other way, so the mayhem when they realise that its impossible to all fit into the passing place has to be seen to be believed. Please don't travel in groups or bunches, if your catching other traffic, slow down or find somewhere (not a passing place) to stop, it'll make life a lot sweeter for you & for others.

Also don't forget that if you have had some poor bu**er behind you for mile after mile it is also a good place to let him/her pass you if it is clear in front of course I generally find a quick indication then slow down they get past me quite quick and I am able to tootle along guilt free (unless of course it's an obnoxious git who has been driving right up my backside in which case sod him/her)

What really p@@@@s me off about single track roads (yes I love to drive on them) is the ba'bags who cant/wont/refuse to reverse and just sit there until I eventually give up and reverse quite a distance when they would only have to reverse a relatively short distance.😰😰😰. GGGRRRR

You should just stand your ground, put the kettle on and have a brew!

I think it's something that takes a little while to get used to if you drive mainly in a city but having moved to a pretty rural area it's quite nice to be polite and let others pass with a friendly wave. I think too many people are desperate to push on when there's no need.

And then there are the ones who see you just before they pass a passing place and drive on, expecting you to magically move out of the way.
Once in Wales a chap drove past the place a short distance having seen us who had passed the last pull in a mile back, and sat there gesticulating go back. As there was 4 in the car, wound down the windows pulled out a paper and sat. Few mins later he reversed the 50 yards ish to the pull in.

Ofcourse us experienced capable folks should be expected to make allowances for those who can't find reverse never mind do it.

OOOPPss halo slipped a bit there but caught it in time!!!!!

Heading for Dartmoor today and got stuck for 20 minutes on the road to River Dart Country Park and the moors beyond. Ambulance trying to get through met a motorhome going to or from River Dart Country Park, presumably, and hopelessly incompetent in the narrow lane by all accounts. We were too far back in the tailback to see but daughter, ahead of us, saw it all. There are loads of very narrow bridges on Dartmoor, too narrow for many motorhomes, so don't go up there if you don't know the roads as you'll just clog the whole place up when you get stuck!
