There's more and more motorhomes parking along the prom overnight. I don't know if it's officially allowed but people don't seem to be moved on as far as I can tell.
It's a spectacular place to park; beautiful views over Morecambe Bay and the Lakeland hills. Aldi and Morrisons on the other side of the road and new wine bars, restaurants and cafes emerging obviously getting ready for the influx of visitors who will be coming to the Eden Project in a couple of years time.
Other places to visit along the prom are the Platform venue which has bands and other entertainment, the art deco Midland Hotel if you fancy a drink or a posh meal and the Winter Gardens being refurbished and putting on concerts and wrestling (!) occasionally. You can also have your photo taken with Eric Morecambe's statue as well.
Morecambe's definitely coming back up again after years in the doldrums.
