Planning a trip to the islands.
We love our walking and will have our Paddleboards and Bodyboards. Will also pack the fishing gear.
How much do people use bicycles when visiting the islands. Would we be missing some good places if we didn’t take them.
Thanks for any input.
Graham

I would think it would depend on your type of cycling. If you hit the road for 40 or 50 road miles a day then it could be good. I think there’s a road based Hebridean route.
If you’re more of a potterer who wants to pop to the shops and perhaps a trip to the beach then don’t bother, take the van. We didn’t take our bikes for our trip few years ago and I don’t think we missed anything we wanted to see.

We are going to Lewis/Harris later this year and I was looking forward to taking my e-bike (A normal bike, converted with a kit)
This thread is giving me second thoughts. :(
Does anyone have differing opinions?

As I said above we took our bikes and we like to cycle once we are parked up. However we found we just didn't use them as we either when to things on the way to a new site or just walked.
