Operation Brock is back.

..... It was only disassembled a few weeks ago, I thought at the time they'd be better off leaving it in place in case they needed it for the summer rush across/ under the Channel 😟

Hope it's OK the other direction - arriving Folkestone via the Tunnel 9am tomorrow morning.

Just travelled the M20 Brock section, heading towards London - 08.15 Tuesday 12.07.22.

No hold-ups in either direction. Just contraflow and 50mph restriction. Through it now.

No sign of any lorries stacked.

Tunnel very quiet this morning, boarding at Calais. Put on train one hour early - yay! (y)

Why? Boats and train aren't running any where near capacity?
Nothing to do with boats and trains. Its all to do with how many vehicles can be processed by the French immigration kiosks. There were only two people /kiosks at their post at the Easter debacle. Took us 4 hours to get processed and the ferry had to sail on time with less than half capacity. So perhaps Brock is needed because the French are on holiday / covid once more.

Ironically, it was chaotic at Folkestone Eurotunnel terminal a week last Thursday, late morning - absolutely rammed. But this morning in Calais, hardly a vehicle to be seen? Straight through immigration, French and English - passports stamped and straight on an early train.
