Hi, we’re planning a trip to the area around the broads in June this year. Never been to this area so any advice on decent sites and places worth visiting would be much appreciated. Booked on the C+MC Norfolk Broads site for a couple of nights as a starting point. We have 3/4 weeks free. Thanks all.

Great site , we’ve been loads of times. Nice walking around there . Pub next door is good food and drink or there’s another in Ludham village but it’s a bit of a walk ( best via the back lanes ) . Close to Wroxham which is buzzing with boating activity and more pubs, if you go in the Motorhome there’s a big car park behind the railway station , just follow the signs and trust them as it looks like you are going a long way out but it’s actually only 5 mins walk back in through the station

Plenty to do and see around there , Norwich is good with a great market place

And you can see Roy as well.

Yes , great department store and reasonable prices . I get all my shaving gel there when I’m down on holiday ( or passing by for work )

When you stay at Ludham club site, make sure you visit St Benet's Abbey. It's an old abbey/wind mill and is beautiful. We have friends at Thurne who hire sailing boats from their boat yard. {Oliver's Sailing Holidays}.

If you visit Norwich there are some pleasant walks around the city including along the Riverside starting at Carrow Road heading north past the railway station to Pulls Ferry and the Cathedral , then Bishops Bridge and Cow Tower and through to the Adam and Eve pub , the oldest in the City dating back to 1241 ish.
That side of the city has some of the oldest remaining .

I posted under “Best Campsites for Dogs” Norfolk campsites and got a great response from members on here. As a result had a great time in Norfolk. Check it out?

Thanks all. As always some great ideas and advice. Much appreciated (y)

At Wroxham, you can stop over at the Marina (for a fee), with close access to the town. :)

Also, you are a short drive away from the Cold War and Air Defence museum at RAF Neatishead, which is well worth a visit. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Ignore locals pointing at you as you drive along; they still do that in Norfolk.

It feels like you’re entering the twilight zone when you walk around and see ROYS, everywhere!

Wroxham isn't that MOHO friendly for parking. Roys is a free car park but it does get busy so just be careful not you have a biggish van. As far a Norwich goes, you're going to struggle parking so check out Whitlingham Lane, there is plenty of roadside parking there with people using the country park and walking into the city for work etc.

If you want to try a really good fish and chip shop with a difference in Norwich, try "The Grosvenor"

We have lived in North Norfolk for 12 years and our yard is in Norwich so we've seen it from all angles.

Enjoy.

Re the parking in Wroxham for a 7m MoHo, is it easy to find. Do you know the address please. Visiting there next week, mid week. Then walking to Barnes Brink Boats??

Is yarmouth on the broads? The site at the racecourse is nice especially if the racing is on :)
