Just trying to make sure all is ok for a weekend away and it appears I have no hot water or heating. There is no life to the control dial. Have checked the ebl and the glass fuse on the heater itself and all look ok. I assume the glass fuse would look burnt if it had blown?
Any ideas of where else to look?
Thanks

You seem to have the little pimple on the operating mode control pictured, set to OFF.
Are you trying to fire up on EHU or gas ?

As far as I’m aware, it only works on gas. I have tried with 12v and ehu, single gas bottle and double and I think pretty much everything else.
There is no illumination on the control dial at all.

Yes yours is gas only, the outer ring (with the pimple mentioned above) needs to select if you want just hot water turn so pimple goes up anti clockwise, if you want heat ant hot water turn the outer ring downwards clockwise, the heat temperature is selected with the inner domed ring, select the number of heat you require.

Just checked the hob and the gas is working fine, so hopefully eliminated one possible cause.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried all combinations and there is no illumination on the dial itself. You normally get a amber flashing led followed by a solid green one, there is absolutely zilch.

Have you checked the fuses?

Yes , just checking you had removed that .

As far as I can tell, the ebl fuses are fine and the 10amp on the boiler itself doesn't look blown, I'm assuming that the glass would look burnt if it had blown?

Have you remembered to turn the 12v on?

You need to remove the cowl or the boiler won’t ignite .

Sorry to sound stupid but what will removing that cover achieve? I'm new to all this and confused as *%@!
Certain boilers have a flue/cowl cover for winter us, which helps to protect the boiler, however, if left on, the boiler won't fire up on gas.

HTH,

Jock. :)

The fuses may look ok but giving them a twist in their holders, or even replacing them may help.

I guess youve tried putting the dial to off then turning it all the way to the top. I struggle with Alans sometimes as his is the same but I think ive sussed it now by doing that.

Presumably you have had it working previously or is this the first time you've tried to get it working?

Have taken this off and it made no difference.

The only thing I can think of that Ive done is check the frost protection valve worked. Dumped some water out of the boiler and reset it. If the button is not a 100% in would that stop the system working? I'm sure it is in properly but will go and check.

Just twisted the blue knob, water poured out, turned it off and pushed button in firmly, still don't work:confused:

Sounds like either your 12v supply is down or the panel is crock.
Do you have a multimeter to check 12v to the control panel?

I have a multimeter......do I know how to use it.....NO
But its not working now.....can I really do that much damage?....probably yes😂
Wish me luck

Is your display panel lit?
