Since 1964 Gosh that makes me feel old.
Those of you who know me also know that I'm forever bleating on about the beauty of south west Scotland, well I was watching this little blog about Newton Stewart & thought that posting it would allow anyone thinking of visiting Scotland could get the feel of the place.
It's deserted, very peaceful & quiet, parking is usually free, wild camping spots abound, just take your pick of where you wanna be, simply apply the Leave No Trace rule & no-one will bother you.

By the way I don't know the folk on the video.

We used to take the kids to near Kirkcudbright when they were little. As you say great area, usually decent weather also. We might take the MH for a run over there in April to blow the cobwebs off it, so might approach you for more info nearer the time, esp. about good pubs !!

We're putting our van on New E ngland Bay for the season this year. We have been there several times and love the place and area.
Looking forward to it....
Cheers, Dave :giggle:

New England Bay and Garlieston are a couple of my favourite sites in the UK and I can only agree that the D&G area is lovely.
I’ve made some lovely friends since I started frequenting the area more regularly a couple of years ago and I’m very close to selling my property in NE England and making Kirkcudbright my permanent home.

Some fantastic, unspoiled places.

Try Sandyhills, Kippford or Rockliffe, off the beaten track and delightful.

Quite local to us, and some of our favourite places.

We’re so local but haven’t yet taken the van down to the Galloway Forest Park ... I might pick your brains when weather looks a bit more clement and we can get away for a night or two?
