I’m a newbie
Good Morning all, we have bitten the bullet and part exchanged our caravan and purchased our 1st motorhome. We haven’t got a clue and are looking for some advice. The motorhome comes with the Fiamma awning, do we go for a privacy room to attach to awning or do we buy a drive away awning?
Another question we have is, what do you do when your water has ran out and everything is attached to the motorhome, do you have to unhook everything to drive to water point or is there another way? Sorry for asking some daft question!! I’m sure we’ll have many more. Thanks in advance.

Welcome.

Quite a few people buy a privacy room and only use it once before selling it. A popular alternative is a Quest 'pop-up' gazebo.

I carry a 11 litre watering can to top up fresh water tank when I do not want to move the MH.

Good advice from Flamenca. I have a Quest which is so easy to use but don't worry about awnings until you've had a good look at everyone else's. Fill water tank before setting up then top up with watering can.

Hi :pink:
We had a drive away awning used it twice what a nightmare to put up and take down sold it at a loss and bought a quest pop up goes up in minutes and packs away with ease would not use anything else others will disagree but it suits us each to there own just don’t rush in to it like I did you’ll save yourself a load of cash and with a quest pop up you can drive away with out any hassle

We just use the roll out awning and even that not very often.

As for water we top up the tank before parking up or leaving. We don't tend to use sites.

In the UK we mainly rally with Camping and Caravanning Club and in France we use Aires in villages, not motorway ones.

Welcome to Fun

Good morning and welcome.
I agree that the Quest pop-up are great, I use to have one and only sold it because of the shape and size when folded. It is approx 6’ long when packed and travelling with it can be a problem depending what size van you have.
Regarding the water situation - again I agree some form of container to top up is the norm. If you have a 12 volt pump and a 12volt power socket then you can easily pump the water from container to MH. Whilst in France recently 4 of us shared the use of an aqua roll for just this purpose - worked a treat, but again you need somewhere to store it when in transit.
