NEW YEAR RALLY 2026

Venue: Oswestry Rugby club Garrison Ave SY11 4AD

Date: Arrival: 30th December 2026 11am /
Departure: 2nd January 2027 by midday

We are Limited to numbers 20 units due to the availability of hard standing.

3 nights camping with use of a warm room (log burner). No EHU is available but you can charge small items in room. We have the use of kitchen with microwave, air fryer,
Tea urn will be on all day so just bring your own mugs along, tea, coffee, biscuits will be provided.

Price: fixed price £50

Deposit Payment:
A 'non-refundable' deposit of £20 is required once your name is down and a private message will be sent with payment details.
Balance will be required by the end of September.

Cancellations:
Deposits are non-refundable. In the event of any cancellation your deposit will be used for site and costs incurred.

30th Dec: tea /coffee/biscuits on arrival room is available throughout the morning/ afternoon.
Free and easy evening, bring your own drinks and nibbles. Itinerary to be provided at a later date.

31st Dec:
New year's Eve, room available during morning/ afternoon, tea /coffee available for those not wanting to venture into Oswestry.

Evening: New Year's Eve party
Dress: Smart/evening wear.

There will be a Buffet + a glass of bubbly provided to bring in the new year
please bring your own drinks for the evening as there is no bar available.

1st Jan 2027 New Years day: Room available all day with tea / coffee,
11am we aim to provide bacon or sausages bap or a small brunch for those with dietary requirements depending on numbers. More info given nearer the time.

Other activities for the evenings will be confirmed at a later date.

2nd January Departure before midday:

Room will be available for a farewell cuppa in the morning.

Only paid up members of Motorhomefun are allowed to attend this rally.
Please note : Dogs are allowed in the room during the day but not the evenings .Thankyou.

Every year in October to December several threads are started wanting New Year Rallies. It is too late to organise them then. Two or three years ago, I put one up here and ended up cancelling it through lack of support as I had to commit to the venue or lose personal money.

I suspect that ultimately this rally will be significantly oversubscribed, so suggest if you can make it and are interested, you get your name down quick.

Just some friendly advice.

Great to see a new rallie, and eating and drinking is Kates speciality I'm sure the spread will be wonderful she deffo knows how to feed people

I'm hoping to be in a warmer climate

Not actually a DA meet as that is the Camping and caravan club, this is a rally organised by fellow fun members. However very similar and sure you will have a good time . Ambilkate should be along soon to add you to the list. Look forward to seeing you, any questions don't be afraid to ask .

To go anywhere decent for New year, you need to start researching any time from January and book by March!

We have gone away for NY every year for thirty years, up until two years ago, normally flying somewhere. If you don’t book promptly, anything left is wayyyyyyy overpriced.

We haven't done anything since COVID for New Year, would haved loved to have gone abroad but alas it's a no go for us at the moment family commitments,but may have a chat with you about your experiences of going abroad for future reference when we meet up . . When tonka found Oswestry Rugby Club we jumped at the chance of booking the room . We used to use Shrewsbury showground for New year but most years the river flooded or other probs arose with the ground being saturated also the room was upstairs and caused a prob for a few folk for access but we had a good few rallies there . Oswestry is all on one level , one big bonus they now have a lovely log burner as well x

To clarify, we have only ever flown when going abroad for New Year. Covered most of Europe plus New York (on the staten ferry watching fireworks surrounding the Statue of Liberty )

Last three years done New Year in the MH. Following on from this one we hope to go to Shetland for Up Helly Ah (always wanted to go but flying plus accommodation was waayyyy too expensive).
