Wish me luck - collecting a 2006 Romahome Dimension on 11th! We already have a Cheyenne 696se but I wanted something smaller so that I could visit my family who are 600+ miles away. Means I can be self contained on the way there and stay on their drive no probs. Bit nervous about getting my head round stuff but hoping as an older van it will be a bit simpler. 😊

Brill!
I've had three 1990's ones in the past on Citroen bases, smashing multi-purpose vehicles, but rust killed mine. Mainly the engine bulkhead, scuttle below the windscreen, bonnet front, slam panel and door cills/floor. (And I restore classic cars).
Don't worry, they didn't have the same base as your Dimension. ;)

I do think they are great, maybe this one is a little too small though. You'd think that the plastic bit on the back would outlast the front metal bit, so perhaps one could find a similar donor vehicle and pop it on that. Easy peasy. Not.

I chased the rust and welded on many new panels but much of the body was so rotten it was like trying to weld a digestive biscuit. I did consider using a replacement donor base but as you say, t'aint easy or straightforward and more hassle than it's worth.
A Citroen dealer told me the basic vans were primarily intended to have a 5 year useful life for leasing to plumbers and decorators.
I did like 'em though.
