I thought this might be useful to folks...

Thanks. It's very annoying that they've put that and the show guide up, but not in an easily usable format.
Pretending that a pdf file is a book is all a marketer's dream and pretty (and lets them track usage), but very limited as you can't print extracted pages to write on or refer to offline, use better viewing software etc. I don't want to pretend to pull a page across, I want to scroll, search and print - it's a computer, not a book!

Why not just screenshot it?

You get a paper copy when you arrive at the Show - more than one if you wish so we usually tear out the map & have that handy for navigating around the Halls. Some years they have had a printed copy of the map free to collect as well so no need to take your own version. It's handy to see the web version to get an idea of the size of the Show & layout in advance though.

I know you'll get a paper copy, it's a minor grumble really. Being able to sit at home and mark up things of interest means not leaving the show and thinking "we forgot to...".
I could screenshot, but that doesn't give the same print resolution and is a faff.

Just irritates me that they took a perfectly usable format, and used that to publish a less usable one. They could easily have a download link to the source PDF they used to generate the online version. But that's the marketing departments for you.

Maybe I’ve done something wrong but I could zoom in and scroll across that pdf

The floor plan image above in the first post is great, doesn't need to be pdf as it's a normal format so can print or easily import into a tablet for offline use etc.

The online show guide book (and floor plan on the show website) has print disabled, and can't be imported into normal software to be able to manipulate, mark up or print (as it's not a pdf anymore). You have to do it in a very limited way that their software - which is form over function - allows. That's my gripe.

Not a big deal, just a grumble.

Always found this plan to be pretty useful...

I had to view the website code to follow the trail to the original source image and downloaded that. It is a right faff, and I agree, a printable version should be readily available as well as whizzy PC and mobile "friendly" viewers.

Don't need it, this year, as I'm missing this show, but looking forward to my book dropping to my door for another year of Brit Stopping.
Have a good show, and I'll perhaps see you in October!
