Still learning since 2010
Now that most of the schools have gone back can anyone tell me what the situation is like around North Scotland please.
Is it still as crowded and is the one way system still in place etc. ?

We have friends that just finished it yesterday and they reported it to be quiet.

I am sure I read somewhere that you were only allowed to go one way round. Not sure if it was clockwise or anti.
I may have dreamt it though. Old age plays havoc with my brain cell.

I think the consensus is that it is much better viewing going one way rather than the other so most people do that

Oh no ...That was a Daily Mash / News Thump type spoof! You can go either way but many folk go anti-clockwise to save the dramatic west coast for last ...

As I don't read newspapers of any type (except Motorcycle News and Old Glory magazine) it must have been on here somewhere, maybe ! :blusher:

Forget the 500. The east side is pants, unless you really want to tick of your wish list.
Stay on West coast --- West is Best

Agree totally with Stealaway Why stick to the ratrun that is the NC500... There is so much more of our fine country to see away from the NC500.
Get a map and make your own route especially on West Coast and venturing inland.
Either way you will enjoy.

East is nice if you want some old golf courses we enjoyed it a few years ago👍😊

I agree that the east is every bit as good as the west; different but every but as good. The seascapes are just brilliant (literally, sometimes) and the visitor attractions are, if anything, way better than the west.

Ian

Definitely do the East it has loads to offer just off the beaten track, we did it anti-clockwise and would recommend this.
