NC 500

We are thinking of doing the NC500 late September early October, I've read a few old threads about locals not really liking the the swarms of vans and motorhome activity.
Has anyone had any negative responses on the trip?

If you go outside the school holidays (check the differences between English and Scottish school dates) you will be fine, check the NC500 website for dos and don’ts and be prepared to take your time and sight see it’s not a race track.

Most of the adverse comments are on social media and the protagonists don’t even crawl out of their pits for fear of missing their soaps

We have done the 500 three times. We only ever encountered friendliness.

Just remember passing places are also there for you to allow faster traffic to overtake you, use your mirrors. Then you aren't slowing locals and delivery drivers, everyone's happy .

Thanks for all your replies it's put our minds at ease. We are very considerate people and wouldn't have wanted to exaserbate any local negative feelings. It seems to be mostly wild campers (tents) reading further into the problems. Thanks again, now looking forward to it .
