Fully loaded and off for a long weekend 👍. Two miles down the road and the boss says “let’s get some asparagus at the farm shop”
So I pull into a gateway and consult the map: turn left in 1 mile and a country road with knock time off the diversion.

I drive off and hear a shredding noise from the near side and the steering wheel wobbles left, right, left, right continuously. I wish I had switched my TPMS on! I pull into the next gateway, hazard lights on, and inspect the wheels: everything seems ok.

Off we go again but the noise continues, as does the nasty wobble. At the next gateway I check the wheel bolts (we once almost lost the rear wheel descending a Welsh mountain in pouring rain: all five bolts were loose and one was only holding by half a thread 😳). But no; everything was tight.

So I got out my mat and laid on the ground to check for other possible problems. The ns front wheel tread was full of clay and gravel! I cleaned it out and, after the loose stuff was flung onto the underside of the wheel arch, all was well 😊

(The asparagus was expensive, as was the hollandaise sauce, but hopefully worth it.)

May be worth using the site loos after the asparagus though :ROFLMAO:

Ansypu really need to completely clean it off using a hose or pressure washer.
We once sunk a van in mud and by the time we got clear it had nearly baked on. Had to remove wheels in a garage and get it all of with a pressure washer.

Unfortunately, the time away will be mainly spent on 93y old MiL’s drive. A pressure washer is something which she used to have before she broke it and her loo is set up to serve her needs (some folks will understand what I mean).

Currently we are heating up some food cooked at home: I then need to thoroughly degrease her double oven and the hob, which only has one ring working. We offered to get food for her if she rang before 10pm on Tuesday: she rang at 9pm yesterday asking for short dated lettuce for her birds. Today we discovered that she has no fresh fruit nor vegetables: we still prefer to do online shopping but this will require going outside our comfort zone.

I don’t want to get old (but I also don’t want to die 🙄)
