After many hours at the Dealership the Alde heating in our new Hymer,MTCI 580 is still not working in the garage. They can’t seem to get any help from Hymer.
It had an leak and then an airlock and after days apparently it works in front but not the garage. We have the full winter pack and want to use Erma in the winter without an under bed cold spot and condensation! Plus an area to dry a wet dog.
We are somewhat cheesed off with the amount of time, miles and mental effort this is taking, this leisure business is hard work 😓

Might be worth a call to Alde U.K.
They are extremely helpful and might be able to liaise with the dealer to identify the problem.

Call Alde and if not obvious over the phone get it booked in and charge the dealer.

Yes thank, we are booked in with them in July.
I can’t help thinking it may be something simple that has been overlooked!

On our Hymer T668SL there is a switch on the side of one of the beds which opperates a small under floor fan to distribute heat to the garage area.

Our late 2020 Hymer BMC680 had issues with the Alde heating not working on the garage, and alongside the beds, took it in to Southdowns who sorted it under warranty, were very thorough, replaced 4 valves ( all of them I believe) now works 😀

Ours has a small control knob under the bed which adjusts/isolates the garage heating.

Must check ours on our B690, hadn’t even thought about it until reading this, ours has all the winter bits too, including a diesel powered heater that I think will pre heat the engine and provide hot air to the front cab (good spec when we bought at 6m old)😎

Westbarn1 ours has the heat exchanger to either pre heat the engine in winter or heat the body of the vehicle whilst driving along with blown hot air ( rather than the normal Alde radiators) there’s outlets at floor level under the front seats, habitation footwell and by the rear bed close to floor level. You activate it by turning on a button on the dash and turning on the Alde panel , turning off gas and electric as heat sources and then dive into the menu to manually turn on the blower fans

Hi, yes have those bits too, not been out in the cold to use them, and consequently not worried about how they work, first German owner had a bakery business and presumably intending to use in Alpine weather and I’m guessing, being a baker, just had to spec the oven too, which is a bit unusual in a German van

Sound silly but with our Alde heating you had to bleed it with the system off, if the pump was running it would suck air in through the bleed valves.
