Hi,

I thought stays were the preserve of caravans, but clearly not. Can anyone recommend motorhome stands/stays? My Bailey Adamo rocks whenever anyone moves to go to the toilet at night. Even if someone rolls over in bed the van moves.

Any advice welcome.

Thanks

😁 Funny you should say that. Over breakfast we felt the motorhome shudder. Turns out my motorhome is sensitive to the wind. Having been a caravaner the past 6 years, I’m finding my assumptions about motorhomes to be false ones.

If you lower them, put a tell on the steering wheel, and don't drive off with them down!
Indeed. I have literally just moved from owning caravans, so even when we left the campsite I found myself habitually looking to wind up the stays! 😅 Old habits…

Very good tip though!

Yep, 100%. I used to subscribe to Pilot magazine, and at the end of each edition they would have a section titled: "I learnt about flying from that". Basically the kinds of tips you shared, although in the flying world, deadly serious if ignored. It would be great to have a section like that on these forums. Although, I suppose, the whole MHF forum is basically that to some degree.

It is and sadly, possibly, the difference between a magazine and Internet Forum is generally, would be;

A magazine is published at a given time and can be closely edited to ensure only good, valid and accurate information is published.

On an Internet Forum like this it would rely on much work of Jim which he almost certainty doesn't need, removal of the ability for replies, or the original message is lost in a welter of irrelevant replies, possibly the need of a Panel of Experts to evaluate the value and accuracy of posts AND last, the issue of liability.

Still as you say for many things the info is hear on the forum, the Search facility worked well or the posting of a thread soon gets advice.

These are surprisingly light. Silly light, was very surprised by them.

And they work well 👍🏻👍🏻
I guess they don't need to be that strong, because they aren't supporting the full mass of the motorhome, but more applying enough supporting force to prevent vehicle movement.

Except save for when they are used for 'extremes' of levelling.

Or I have seen them in action for a wheel change!
