Never bothered with them before but thinking of getting removable fitted carpets for winter, question is, are the carpets fitted in MH’s any different than normal house carpet or are they specially treated to repel dirt etc.?
2nd question who would you recommend to supply them ( in the North West if possible)
Ta very much

Have the supplied carpets in mine wouldn’t be without them but a good carpet fitter would make them for half the price.

We went to an independent carpet retailer who made some out of some really good quality off cuts. Worked out really well think it cost around £300.

I wouldn't think MH carpets are any different to domestic carpets. Any carpet shop that do binding will make you made to measure removable mat/rugs/ carpets.

01630 652873 give them a ring PJM motors market Drayton they do vintage cars motorhomes ,they do a lovely job edging colour coded and removable ,I had underlay fitted on mine Mutch better than the original hope this helps.

Dunhelm have a stack of top quality mats for around a fiver each.

Fully edged, various sizes and colours

We bought two and if they only last a year they are a bargain.

These guys did great job on an earlier Autotrail of ours.

My Hymer carpets have a waterproof (plastic?) backing. This keeps them rigid. The kitchen area gets much more worn than the rest of the van and now looks quite scruffy. The unused carpet for the toilet area resides in a cupboard at home - for obvious reasons :-)

The best set I ever fitted were from a remnant of Flotex waterproof carpet with a silicone backing. Cut all bits to size and sealed the edges with glue like copydex, which dried transparent. Saw the van a few years after I had sold it and the same carpets still looked good as new

Hi, another vote for the washable, absorbent Marvel mats from Dunelm - they have a non slip backing. I bought two mats in their sale, which totalled around £45. They are easy to cut to size, and then to shake out, or pop in the wash.

Try a local independent carpet retailer, our local one has a beading machine so will make them to fit. For our last van we bought an offcut and they beaded it for us.

We get a 1.5m x 4m roll end, sometimes felt backed, for £20, cut to size by sharp stanley knife. Normally replace it every 2 years or when scruffy, much warmer and dog loves it,

You can spray virtually any fabric or carpet with Scotchguard to make it water repellant.

A Cut Above, Lancaster did ours. £100 for a full set of tab carpets for Rapido 8066df, including carpet. We did however have the originals as a template. Very good service.

We went to a local carpet shop. They measured and supplied for £150, edges whipped, padded backing. 3 large pieces (2 hab, 1 cab).

The carpet is polypropylene, so is washable, bleachable, stain resistant and so on. The original carpets were very impractical, but we used these all year round.
