Got tunnel yesterday, got put on train 1 1/2 early, first stop was Montreuil but Aire was full and car park was rammed so we dropped down hill and had a peaceful night at the bottom of the wall

I am totally guessing, but I think the development of flats behind Montreuil aire might have been cancelled. I didn't see any adverts just over a week ago and the sales shop next to the lawnmower shop looked shut and had no adverts or "artist impression" pics in the window.
Like the look of your overnight stop. No bin wagon collction of the glass recycling bin at 5am !

I was reading up on the Montreuil Aire on Search for Sites, and there's a review from last month to say that they plus a number of other motorhomes were broken into overnight whilst they were sleeping. I scrolled back through previous reviews and there's no other mention of such happenings, so perhaps an isolated incident. We use SFS a lot and have not come across any similar reviews, so I'm thinking that it's a genuine account.

The same comments were on P4N however the website provider restricted 'recommending' the aire whilst it checked out the claim of some vehicles being burgled and I assume after checking it out and finding it wasn't quite as was suggested, the review was removed and the aire became unrestricted again.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again. My Montreuil treat is Marmite de Poisson at Le Cocquempot restaurant. Just look at this vast load of fishy goodness, accompanied by big chunks of gorgeous veg.
Russell's Mum has Potatoes and Camembert. Also delicious.

I know, I wonder how many unhappy holiday makers they get there. I assume the 'sur mer' bit was added to try to differentiate it from other Montreuil villages elsewhere ... don't suppose Montreuil sur Le Pot du Clape has the same appeal!
