mig welding regulator

agian not really motorhome related but ive bought a new regulator for my mig welder, fitting some new seats to the van and need to alter the seat bases to accept the new seats, in my ignorance i thought that there was ony one size regulator for 10 litre gas bottles.so my regulator came this morning and it wont fit it very nearly fits but wont is there more than one size regulator is there anybody on here thats knows or am i being stupid .thanks in advance

Can't answer your question with any certainty...but it will depend on the gas you are using ie CO2 Or an argon Co2 mix..and whether its a hobby type cylinder or an industrial one from the big suppliers like BOC or Air products..
They will be standard fittings but the hobby may be manufacture specific..

I’ve also just bought a Mig welder ( never welded anything in my life before ) and also have a 10 litre bottle. When I ordered the regulator I just had to make sure it had a male fitting to screw into the bottle. However I did have to buy an adapter which screwed onto the regulator leaving a 6mm tail for the gas hose

hi rockcrawler ive got the same bottle as yours but i bought the regulator seperately so ive e mailed the guy on e bay i bought it from and hope he gets back to me it is only very slightly too large maybe a couple off mm so i cant see that there will be so many different sizes have fun learning to weld

You probably know this but Just remember to use your mask, ark eye or welder's flash is not nice, i learned the hard way many years ago

Standard Argoshield bottle fitting is a thread the same size as a propane bottle but with a right hand thread
