Mercedes Sprinter door step sill trims - how do you remove them?

I'm struggling to remove the door step sill trims of our Sprinter campervan ... there aren't any signs of lugs etc covering any screws of similar but I can't shift it; it seems to be held in place along the length of the trim. Any ideas how to remove the trim so I can put it back when I've done the repair?

And any idea how to stop water getting under the sill?

Probably lugs that push fit. How you get then out without breaking them, well best of luck.
