We have just bought our first motorhome an older 04 plate and are having a problem with the 12v system, you cant turn it on it says system disabled even if your plugged into to 240 at our house.
Any ideas great fully received.

12v isolator switch off perhaps, although i am sorry dont know where it is on an Autotrail.

where is it showing the message that its disabled?

there must be a battery / 12v system master switch somewhere, could be near the leisure battery / s or on the control panel itself.

There is no battery isolator. Check the EC200, probably a PSU2005 or 2007, to see if the master switch is on along with the battery charger. Also if you go onto the Auto Trail website, under 'Motorhome extras' you can download the 2004 brochure and handbook.

I don’t know, but just a thought. Would this be because the electrical system thinks the engine is running, so won’t allow 12v activation??

That is what i thought might be happening but not sure how to rectify.

This may not be helpful, but, that message is displayed on the control panel above the habitation door in my Mercedes base Autotrail when the 12v is switched on and the ignition key is turned. The message disappears, when the ignition key is removed.

There will be a pair of relays , possibly along with a block of 3 or 4 fuses , , they may be near to the starter battery , these control the split charging and step / fridge 12v operation with the engine running and there may be a problem with the wiring at them or a relay may be faulty (they are normally common types of relays)

What about asking the previous owner? It'll be on the V5.
