Hi all I need to look at a mattress topper for my wife she had one in our old van but it’s had it. The problem is we have a water bed at home which basically means it’s very soft and very supportive and excellent for my wife’s back, who has spina bifida. Because of a single rear bed in an MH only being around 85 cm wide finding something to fit is a little hard there is only really memory foam and cut it down but can anyone recommend anything or any brand or anything other then memory foam. It would be brilliant to find a company like the ones on the tv that say test for 90 days then return and so on.
There must be others on here with major back problems who have had the same problem Thanks

When I’m in a tent, I use an Exped Downmat, air mattress. It’s a very robust air bed and comes with a “schnozzle” air inflator.
When you get the amount of air right, it’s as comfy as anything at home. The secret being putting only just enough air in.
Mine is down filled for cold floors, but they do a cheaper synthetic version which would be fab as a mattress topper.

Not cheap mind, but the quality lasts

My wife got some from Denelm mill they do them in various sizes.
She trimmed the foam down to fit better

I don’t know if they have any the right size but ikea mattresses are generally very good and they do the 90 day return thing. We bought a latex one for our van which I cut down to size with a knife and that’s very comfortable

I’ve used this company, www.efoam.co.uk, to replace the mattress cushion on our bed. They were very helpful on the phone and I see they do mattress toppers so might be worth giving them a ring?

How about looking at a medical mattress topper. I think they do ones for trolleys as well as full sized beds so would be narrower. Otherwise I think that I would try an airbed mattress as they are also narrow and mimic a water bed more closely (I also sleep on a water bed at home).

If you decide to go down the test for 90 days route have a good read of the small print , I'd read one of them refunds for the mattress but charges you £200 for the mattress protector which isn't returnable, that probably covers their costs for the mattress from China which they can sell on

I've seen memory foam mattresses in lidl in the past
