Managing Notifications: The Bell Mystery

Ever since I introduced a couple of ad-blockers...

You know the "Bell" notification in the top blue bar, always lit up when some one mentioned (Old-Mo) or gave me a like heart hug, Thankyou etc...

Now I only get the bell lit up when someone mentions me...

I do/did like to acknowledge when I got a Like, Thankyou, Heart hug, Popcorn etc... show up in the lit bell... I think it is only being polite...

What have I done wrong, don`t want notifications on all the other stuff, so I must of gone through the list of preferences and un-clicked one of the hundreds of boxes, (I don`t want the push box alongside... (Don`t understand them..)

Or am I dreaming and never got a bell light up for a Like//Hug/Popcorn/ etc..

If you click on your icon to the left of the mail sign then select Preferences, scroll down to the bit which says: "Receive a notification when someone". Check the boxes are ticked which generate the alerts.

But the bell did not light up...

Perhaps it never has and I imagined it had..

What box do you click on to get that......

I don`t particularly want all the push buttons, cos I don`t know what they mean...

Don't worry about the 'Push' notifications, if you have told your browser not to give you them, it won't give you any.
