M2 Bridge Closure
Various phases
Highways England will be carrying out resurfacing on both directions of the M2 Medway Bridge as well as replacing bridge joints in the London bound carriageway over the coming weeks.
In order to carry out these works as efficiently and as safely as possible, work will be undertaken under a series of full closures to resurface the road and lane closures to replace the bridge joints.
These works will be completed as follows:
15th October-20th October: from 8pm-6am each day the London bound Junction 3-2 and junction 2 off slip will be closed.
It is expected that the road will reopen prior to our first services arriving in the area. However, if the closure overruns our 700, 719a and 721a services may be required to divert via the A229 and Rochester Bridge after completing all pick-ups in Medway as normal.
21st October-28th October: M2 London bound, junction 2 off slip, hard shoulder and lane 1 will be closed 24 hours a day.
The closure is limited to the junction 2 off slip, hard shoulder and lane 1. The closure coincides with half term and Highways England expect minimal disruption.
29th October-3rd November: from 8pm-6am each day the M2 London bound Junction 3-2 and junction 2 off slip will be closed.
It is expected that the road will reopen prior to our first services arriving in the area. However, if the closure overruns our 700, 719a and 721a services may be required to divert via the A229 and Rochester Bridge after completing all pick-ups in Medway as normal.
4th November-12th November: M2 London bound lanes 1, 2 and 3 will be closed 24 hours a day.
It is anticipated that this will have a significant impact on all road users in the area. We will monitor conditions on a daily basis throughout the closure and divert services as necessary via the most advantageous route available.
20th November-23rd November: from 8pm-6am each day the M2 coast bound junction 2-3 and junction 2 on slip will be closed.
