Hymer passenger teardrop headlight protector lost during our recent trips, for our Daughter's University interviews, so looking for a replacement(Hymer Exsis 562) if someone has one lurking in there shed unused, or no longer required.
Will gladly pay sensible price and postage or where to purchase a new set?

Many thanks

Yes @GWAYGWAY thanks for listening as stated above in my post, lost one of my headlight covers on the passenger side of a right hand drive Exsis see pic, and need a replacement? can you help please.
Steve.

Yes,this thread has reminded me,I too could do with a pair, here in Portugal the tipper drivers are not too fussy about cleaning the tailgate before leaving the nearby quarry.
If you are producing, would be very interested, thanks.

I've also seen lamin-x headlight film applied, there was an article in mmm about it. Neither will stop the infamous shattering of the one side of the hella unit, whatever cause you subscribe to, but these protectors are useful against impact, especially bird strikes (@SteveandDenise )

If @GWAYGWAY is unable to provide here is a not too cheap option. I got mine from a guy on eBay for £75 but not listed now.

I have lost my offside one, but am not disappointed, although potentially functional they look awful and need to be regularly removed for cleaning

Now I know I can get a replacement cover through @GWAYGWAY and have already had my last (second broken unit mended at realistic cost I have decided to take my chances (y)

So I have a spare nearside cover, presuming you mean the one attached by suckers?

You can have it for the cost of the postage :), someone in the elite HOC (elite IMO because I am banned ) was making them for HOC members for about £60 / pair I think, bought mine as a non member from ebay for about £80, but don't want anything for it (y)

edit - I can't easily tell from your photo, but ours has a cut out to allow the washer section to operate, not sure if that would make mine different to yours ?

David,I would love it please if you still have?
Happy to pay postage and a donation to charity, cheers Brian.

Hello Brian, I do still have it but it would seem only fair to give the OP first chance, I do only have the one half of the pair though, the other is somewhere alongside the A1 A66 o_O

@Red Dragon I will take a photo when back home in 1/2 hour to see if what I have is the one you need (y)

Many thanks David will look out for your pic? but as mine on the offside has the cutout for the washer I think they are the same(y)

Not a business, I only do it for selected persons of repute.

This is the plastic cover I have Steve

PM me your address I will post it tomorrow if it is the right one to replace the one you have lost

Brian, @GWAYGWAY has the skill and workshop facility to fit a new plastic front to a broken headlight unit, I am on my third headlight now :( TW wouldn’t give me back my first broken unit when replaced  including the bi xenon bulb I now know  told me it was in a skip, yeah o_O anyway my second has now been mended for not much more than the price of the plastic covers (y) , the stick on bits are not from @GWAYGWAY hope that helps (y)

Hi David yes its the same, so will PM my address, please let me know what I owe you plus a donation to a charity, once again the "Motorhomefun" spirit and assistance comes to the fore.(y):)

That cover will work both sides, just take off the stickers and put the the other way on.. that is a flat screen and not moulded convex.
I have just recived another headlight that had broken glass that was still on there with plastic film holding it. He had been using it for months but his MOT is now due so it need a lens, right side this time though. PS for the suckers use something a bit more durable than water, I use a smear of vaseline on mine. I started headlight lenses when I made my first set of protectors for myself, then thought not much difference so did the lenses..

useful to now that you can now do offside as well, is that the same cover in reverse as well?

knowing my luck if it can be broken I will break it :(

Well I have just joined the lost headlight protection group, I think I will go down the route of vynal film Bugger

I had my last broken light unit 'mended' by GWAYGWAY by fitting a replacement plastic front lens where the broken glass was, so have a spare light unit in stock, which almost certainly means it will now not be needed

IMO the stick on lens covers don't look nice and as the unit didn't cost much more to mend than the stick on covers I am now prepared to take my chances

Did ours with Lamin-X last year and it’s great, went for the thicker version.
You can’t tell it’s even there, no chance of loosing it.
Can you tell me where you bought that please ?

I bought via eBay but I think it came from the US, all the stockists here appeared only to do pre cut shapes for particular car models. Can’t remember what thickness I went for but because the lights are fairly flat you can go quite thick.
The link above doesn’t appear to give you thickness options.

Correction
Thinking about it, I ordered direct from Lamin-X USA and you select rolls to get the choices of thickness and sheet size.

Question .
Do they break from daylight running lights getting hot ? I have switched mine off after receiving that advice.

Some people say so, mine was a bird, and I changed the dross for
Leds , I think stones etc are the biggest problem.
Also badly fitted lights ie tension on glass.

we had LED's in both of our near side lights when they 'burst'

I agree with Steve, badly fitted on the tensioning side, had my second one fitted by a car repair friend who immediately said how critical the centre tension was
