After looking on the usual apps it seems the old munitions factory may be the best place to stay, mind at €25 a night it's getting into campsite territory.
Does anyone have a better location.
We do car parks, aires and campsites.
Thank you
(Arriving into northern Spain late August so Lisbon should be early September)

JJ Should be able to tell you where. If my memory serves me right, I think he left me on my own in the Hymer on a car park when we where in Lisbon, having to meet the "magic team" before their show! I do remember I had bought shrimps at the market ... errr ... not his stuff shrimps lol... very offending for his smell sense! :whistle2: :whistle2: :h:

We stopped at Seixal, by the hydrofoil terminal, about €2 for 24 hours & got the Hydrofoil across the river it was just a few Euro.

We’ve used the Camping Lisbon campsite a couple of times- good bus connections into the city. It’s not cheap, but from memory if you’re stopping for several days (4?) the reduced per night rate isn’t so bad. And the pool was a plus after a hot day in the city.
Reviews on Campercontact refer to a music festival making it noisy - not while we were there, but I can imagine! Reception was very busy and business-like , but we didn’t find it rude like some reviews.

That looks like a great spot
It's a huge and very plesent car park used by comuters but the cars only take up a section by the ferry terminal rest of it just a few Motorhomes.

Google shot of it as you can see nothing on the right hand side.

It's not listed on any apps that I can see so shouldn't get too busy. Thanks again.

Though Portugal ha banned all overnight in non designated places.
JJ ?
Enforced on the coast, Algarve & National Parks, elsewhere you can stay up to 48 hours I think you are supposed to register online in each area, not sure if anyone does.

It was before that to start with, and in any case, I think that "overnighting" has different meanings according to who is acting so. We have been overnighting in his hymer, and later with both our Mohos, in places where probably no one, not doing it our way , would have! We were very very discret. Wouldn't put light on without having all shutters shut. Eating was best exercice ever to keep our mouths shut, and bed time was the quiestest moment. No table and chairs out BAM, no radio on, no loud chats, no alcohol to make it even louder...etc.... You can park anywhere indeed, as long as you just PARK !

Stayed at Camping Lisbon several times but I have noticed its getting less cared for each time, which is odd as they have spent a load of money on a fun park.
As said bus service into Lisbon is excellent.
Also stayed next to the statue to Henry the Navigator on the river front but that's banned now. Their were spaces further down on the river front at the police station but to small for us in the RV, not sure if they are still available as latest Google sat view only shows cars.

Honestly, I don't know. There was Luis's show on, so you know best. I can't remember better than you, I wasn't in charge of the driving! 😉

I know Portugal a big place but any must do places not to miss.
We leave early October back to blighty via Northern Spain so we have a lot of time to meander about.

Update. Lisbon was a bust nether the fire station location or the ferry at seixal car park are available.
The fire station one had an event over the weekend and won't be available for 2 days, the ferry car park at seixal has signs up no motorhomes. However they are building an aire with a service point it's just not ready yet.
We are now in Evora just after 2 hours of faving about and doing that big bridge twice (€4 if travelling north, free if going south).
I was like get me out of here.

The first time we went on the new Evora Aire we were the only ones on it, the next year it was on Camper Contact & it was rammed.

I would love this in one spot I want to revisit but I think a fine would be levied. 😢

Another vote for Seixal ferry car park, it's excellent!

We stayed there (after seeing Lenny's previous recommendation) for four nights, catching the ferry over to Lisbon each day (about 15 mins each way). We arrived on a Friday and the barrier was up so we didn't get a ticket on entry. The barriers we're up till Monday morning so when we came to leave on Tues I had to go to the ticket office. The very helpful gentleman gave me a ticket to exit with, and asked me if €1.40 was ok for our stay!

Btw, I can't remember which entry lane to use, but take a close look when you arrive, because in a large motorhome some of the barriers don't appear to raise quite to vertical, so it leaves it a bit narrow. Others will hopefully be able to tell you which lane you need to aim for.

See post #22, No Motorhome signs up now, crazy as only a ¼ of the space is used by cars.

Ah sorry Lenny & OP, I'd missed that update! What a shame but hopefully the new Aire will be a good replacement. 🤞
