i hve just bought 2 new supossed leisure batteries but the old battery that i am replacing has leisure battery on the top but the new ones dont is there any way to tell the outfit i bought from promised next day delivery and they appeared 3 days later, so not fill full of confidence any help appreciated

A clue as to which batteries you have bought would be a good start. The spec'n from the battery label or better still, a photo.

Are they Varta? They seem to have stopped using the word leisure.

There are very few proper Leisure batteries most are just starter batteries with a different label. If it has a CCA rating something like CCA680A on it, it's a starter battery.

Some sold as dual purpose like the Varta LDF range work very well as leisure batteries.
 
There are gel batteries, wet batteries and ours, which I do not think is designed as a starter battery. I heard that Lenny hb does not approve of mine. ( bought it before I met Lenny). Can any battery be used as a starter battery if it does not say CCA?

Normally Gels can't as they don't handle the high current required very well but they do make Gel starter batteries for boats and motorcycles.
 
Any battery of sufficient capacity may be able to start an engine however if it's not designed as a starter battery it may not last very long if used for that purpose continually.
 
unfortunately my phone has died so cant take any pics at the moment i bought them from numberone batteries and all it says on the battery is probat ,maybe ive made a mistake buying theese but the pair were less than £90.00 so we will have to see how well they go

At that price they won't last long as leisure batteries, that's less than I would expect o pay for one battery.
 
well we will see how theses last ,like spriddler says they seem to have good reveiws so time will tell
 
could be the fact it went for a swim in a cold water header tank i couldnt find my head torch so tried to balance phone on tank edge then it was doing the back stroke in 18"off water my own fault

Don't expect much for 45 quid a 130ah decent battery will be £140 to £150, also I would doubt the claimed capacity.
Out of interest how much do they weigh?
 
i dont know but 2 batterys was as much as i could lift comfotably
 
If it was these then they do state 3 day delivery .
