Hi all

My battery went flat the other day which I thought was strange as it was only new a few weeks ago but he ho, I pulled it out and charged it.

I went to put the battery back on today and noticed that the positive terminal had a extended bar on it screwed on to the main terminal which was loose. Turns out the battery terminal screw hole is buggered and the extended bar had snapped.... see pics

I then went to try and find a replacement part. I can find solid brass terminals but not an extender bar. I then searched for an Iveco version.

This showed up on Ebay

Now do I need this special Iveco item or can I just get a brass connector and screw all the connectors on to it?

Many thanks

Paul

The one shown in the link is similar /same as that used on the X250 onwards Ducato, it incorporates fusible links for attached services.
From the pictures of your set up it looks rather nasty and it would be a good idea to trace all of the wires attached and decide if they should be fused them decide how to proceed, at a minimum a new clamp terminal with properly attached wires should be acceptable, definitely better than it was.

There is also a number of different type terminals that you might want to have a look at, most specialist battery shops should stock them.

Edit: Clivefog got in as I wrote. Great minds think alike!

Plenty available, some flat some upright, have a search for Motorhome multi link battery terminal for example -
I have some of these but assumed they wouldn't be suitable for a starter battery?

Get one with the largest size contact area and you should be alright.

Edit: the one below the main advert look better?
