It has been a fraught day trying to prepare our baggage for all the regulations.

We are quite good at adhering to Ryanair's one bag for the overhead locker (dimension limits and 8kg weight limit) - we weighed at 6,5kg and 7kg. Plus a bag under the seat in front, no weight limit, so all the heavy stuff goes in there.

But then we get to the 'liquids' - that is a joke description in itself as we once had Taramasalata confiscated., less liquid than an orange I would think.

So now I have to consider medications: my normal ones are dry, so no problem.

I have temporary treatment for an eyelid infection, which includes a cleanser supplied in a glass bottle, so that had to be decanted into a plastic bottle which had to be sterilised in advance. Then there is the cream for the eyelid and eye drops.

In addition I have a slight skin infection for which the treatment is in a spray from a meatal container - try decanting that.

The result is that, having got all these products, into under 100ml plastic containers, plus toothpaste, shaving cream etc. into a 'Clear plastic bag' the bag is bulging.

Maybe 'Security' (those who we trust to keep us safe) will want to examine each item, maybe not.

As an ex-Airline Captain I support security measures, but I feel that they have gone too far in terms of minutiae, particularly in targetting passengers as 'potential terrorists'.The real terrorists have moved on from those tactics to more sophisticated methods - trapping airport workers into drug dependency, blackmail, kidnapping of families, plus missiles.

At the end of the day Motorhoming is far easier than flying!!!!

To save you the trouble, why not just pay to put your bag in the hold?

Life’s hard with these hurdles in the way.

We all have to deal with it and we do, just pay for a single case or just carry on your medication and other liquids toothpaste etc buy out there and leave it when coming home.

On some trips I use carry on only and take bare minimum and buy liquids as and when needed, if I have any left I throw it away.

Only direct flight from S. Poland. I think their operating standards are good, It is the way they treat their passengers that is not so good.

I am not looking forward to 5 1/2 hours in a non-reclining seat.
I absolutely will not fly Ryanair these days, I relented about 6 years ago after a 15 year standoff, and it was even worse so these days, if Ryanair is the only choice then I aint going.

For any that are interested

I’m with berni109 ,the liquid regulations do not apply to prescription medication which MUST be in their original container with the dispensary label on it and if it’s not on the bottle or pot or tube it should be in the labelled box. If it’s a repeat medication you should take the repeat prescription as well to be on the safe side.

Nick has a liquid nose spray for instance, glass bottle, they never turn a hair. I forgot a lipstick once in my handbag and that was picked up.

You’re going for 2 weeks, why on earth don’t you buy toothpaste there, surely 2 of you will use a tube! Just saying, if you’re that worried about volumes. I have a tiny travel tube travel tube for arrival and then buy a proper one. The trave tube has done the odd weekend away as well.

Security takes so long these days I haven’t had to wait for checked baggage for years mind.

Oh what a pain in the posterior! Last time we had problems was in 2013 and were delayed for a day out of Luton. The good news was that when I landed the car in a hedge on the way to the airport there were no cars on the main road we had slid across !
Sorry to go off topic nicholsong
Happy hols!

Medication is exempt there are special measures .you just need to follow them .put them I to a separate bag with all the labels attached and you shouldn't have a problem. I'm in Portugal after abandoning ryanair to alicante and booking easyjet to faro. It was announced yesterday they are stopping the liquid limit I did not see the date.always been happy to jump on a bus with wings but after this weeks fiasco I agree MH far easier.ar least if ryanair have not got a crew you can legitimately offer to fly it. They would let me . I hope your journey is smooth

I decided as the lady from swissport said they would check us in from departures, to change the whole holiday to Portugal, Ryanair then charged up to £750 single to alicante
Got better as with temperature down to -2 told we could not stay got a hotel room at the hilton which swisspot told us waS full
The only reason I did not fly put of Cardiff was threats of strikes .all their flights left on time
