It has been a fraught day trying to prepare our baggage for all the regulations.
We are quite good at adhering to Ryanair's one bag for the overhead locker (dimension limits and 8kg weight limit) - we weighed at 6,5kg and 7kg. Plus a bag under the seat in front, no weight limit, so all the heavy stuff goes in there.
But then we get to the 'liquids' - that is a joke description in itself as we once had Taramasalata confiscated., less liquid than an orange I would think.
So now I have to consider medications: my normal ones are dry, so no problem.
I have temporary treatment for an eyelid infection, which includes a cleanser supplied in a glass bottle, so that had to be decanted into a plastic bottle which had to be sterilised in advance. Then there is the cream for the eyelid and eye drops.
In addition I have a slight skin infection for which the treatment is in a spray from a meatal container - try decanting that.
The result is that, having got all these products, into under 100ml plastic containers, plus toothpaste, shaving cream etc. into a 'Clear plastic bag' the bag is bulging.
Maybe 'Security' (those who we trust to keep us safe) will want to examine each item, maybe not.
As an ex-Airline Captain I support security measures, but I feel that they have gone too far in terms of minutiae, particularly in targetting passengers as 'potential terrorists'.The real terrorists have moved on from those tactics to more sophisticated methods - trapping airport workers into drug dependency, blackmail, kidnapping of families, plus missiles.
At the end of the day Motorhoming is far easier than flying!!!!
