A note to others.
Skip to the end for cause and fix.
Our water pump was intermittently coming on for no apparent reason late yesterday evening gone 11pm.
After a long day travelling had a quick check for leaks no luck there so turned it off.
I had taken out our mains electric water heater last winter to try and fix it with success I might add so suspected a leak there maybe.
This morning woke up early thinking about it and thought wonder if anything has nudged the water heater drain dump valve.
Had to wait for the boss to wake up as it’s under the bed.
Great she needed the loo fairly early, off with the bed and all.
Sure enough the jumper cables had decided to rest them selves on top of the valve.
It surprisingly is very sensitive to the slightest of touches, releasing enough pressure in the system to trigger the pump
