I have been with NFU for 11 years. Out of the blue this renewal they wanted a "Thatcham" tracker with an annual subscription. The debate resulted in them explaining it is now becoming a requirement for them on motorhome renewals due to their high theft rate currently. My Victron tracker on my Cerbo GX with its additional alarms for EHU disconnect and many others did not cut it, they just wanted a generic Thatcham tracker with sub. Bizarre, no category requirement. I suspect that will come so just went for S5 to futureproof.Have a look at NFU. No alarm or tracker requirement.
Its not just about quotes, you need to have a look at territorial limits as not all companies automatically cover Croatia, Morocco etc and windscreen cover limits, although less of an issue with a coachbuilt.Hi

Jon, I have been thinking for a while that if all of the NFU insured on here, and those who would be if Croatia was included fully comp, could all write to the branch who they play with and ask to make a complaint about the limited cover we might achieve some traction. This mantra of no infrastructure has been touted by them for 11 years to my knowledge. It must be resolvable. I do not have the complaints dept email, but this is the main NFU complaints dept telephone number. 01789 202995Its not just about quotes, you need to have a look at territorial limits as not all companies automatically cover Croatia, Morocco etc and windscreen cover limits, although less of an issue with a coachbuilt.
We were with saga for quite a few years and found them really good but they won't cover the engine size of our current MH so now with NFU, paying £33/month, but will have to have a think about options for next Morocco or Croatia trip.
Ive just renewed and no issue with tracker but think our values are a lot different to sallylillian . Its a good point though, its an expensive business fitting trackers and an extra alarm because UK insurers can't see past Thatcham.
Thats food for thought Michael - I wonder if they ve evaluated it lately? Its not too long ago that you could just ask many of the motorhome insurers for a green card and get one whereas now they all charge for Morocco, some of them heftily which does change the game a bit.Jon, I have been thinking for a while that if all of the NFU insured on here, and those who would be if Croatia was included fully comp, could all write to the branch who they play with and ask to make a complaint about the limited cover we might achieve some traction. With todays prices I thnk it would sell now for far more than you paid for itNot sure about what to state on vehicle value now prices for second hand are strong. Coming to 3 years old with only 8k on the clock do you declare the same as new or knock off say 10% per year (or more) for insurance purposes?
