Just about squeezed everything in and ready for the off tomorrow morning.

On top of the usual clothes, food and walking kit, I’ve had to fit 2 sea kayaks, 2 stand up paddle boards, 7 paddles and 2 full sets of paddle kit, inc drysuits & wetsuits !

Weather permitting, a few warm up paddles from Bunree, before a midweek ferry to Tiree for a week of surf, then back over to Tayvallich for another kayak symposium.

I’m heading out via a local weigh bridge in the morning, just to make sure it’s on the right side of heavy

Either a bigger van or a change of hobby !
Stamp collecting springs to mind

Interested in how you’re transporting the kayaks. My 15yo son is really a dinghy sailor but took up kayaking for his DofE last October. He’s doing river runs most weeks now ... I don’t think it’ll be long before he starts wanting to bring a kayak with him.

Need to get inflatable ones, enjoy your trip.

Karitek Easy Load Roof Rack (see avatar pic) which winches down the side of the van.

Let me know if you need more details or pictures.

Thanks ... Karitek are just round the corner from us in Stair. I’ll take a look.

Morning Ken
Had to have a double check on C&MC site in Tewkesbury early doors this morning as a bus exactly like yours on site, roof rack(?) and everything! Obviously not you.
Given the amount of rain we had yesterday (and still going!) added to the sites history of flooding was thinking must be a Boy Scout (being prepared)
Enjoy your trip away.(y)

Wouldn’t a trailer be easier?

Have a great time Ken. That sounds a wonderful trip!

I think you need to buy one of these:

Been there, bit the bullet and made the upgrade, can now fit the bikes in as well without dismantling. Best thing we did.

I've coached at Tayvallich in previous years, lovely relaxed vibe, mind with it being later in the year than in the past don't forget the midge nets!

Got a nice surprise at Dumfries weigh bridge on Saturday, only 3700kg of my 4500kg max used and well under on individual axles.

Two adults, fresh water and diesel were brimmed and all the toys on board.

Nice set up ! I had my midge hood on yesterday, setting the boats up under the trees on site and the little buggers were oot in force ?

Ann reckons midges and ticks are already a problem at Tayvallich!
