This seems to happen fairly frequently. When I park in a shopping precinct car park, and it fills up with cars, the spaces on either side of me always seem to be left empty. Is it time my van had a bath, and I washed it under the wingpits?

Does this happen with proper campervans?

Don't complain, at least you won't get door dings!:xThumb:

I think you are lucky you have such considerate people parking away from you. Nothing worse than being squashed, trying to get the door open and make a sharp turn getting out of your space in a longish van.

They usually park so close that I can't open the doors.
Hi.
Snap. I allways look for a space where i can get out easy,i have parked a "Bus ride " away as "She " says, and watched cars driving over to park next to me,while sat in it with the dog..You could not make it up.

We LDV drivers have got doors everywhere, so I can always get in through the back door if it is too tight. I'm always amused by the fat lumps that park next tome in McD, and then try to get out. They end up moving off, and parking elsewhere.

I've just realised that I haven't touched the live yogurt, so I might mix some Manuka into that a bit later. I fried the soup, so I'm working through my food stock quite well.

Try switching off the SOG fan and closing your waste water tap :xrofl:

I always think our van in A magnet when away in the sun, you park away from everyone to make it easier to get out of the tight supermarket spaces only to find you have a car tight close to you when you came out.

they park in your shade!!! to keep their car cooler..

maybe i should get a SOG fitted:xwink:

No! It's just you WildBrambles everyone parks close to me, really close. Give me a clue about your aftershave and I will try it out

I too always have the opposite problem. Perhaps you should park like some do round here, usually a disabled driver in a small car parking diagonally across two spaces. I think some, if not most of their disability is that they can't drive :madder:

I've found Soup In A Basket uses up old stock quite quickly. Harps back to the old Batley Varietry Club days.:xwink:

Not only too close to the sides. On Monday a car decided to park behind so close that I couldn't open the rear doors. plenty of empty spaces to choose from but had to sniff my back bumper. Strange people.

To stop people parking too close to me, i usually straddle two spaces, in fact i often take up four spaces.
This encourages car drivers to park between the lines in the next bay, leaving me plenty of room to get out when i need to, otherwise i would be waiting for them to return before i can leave.
of course in very busy supermarkets i try to find a space that lets me get out ok without taking too many spaces.

I had someone put a note on my windscreen telling me I should learn to park. I was about a foot over the line behind me in a double slot. It's the step and tow bar that adds a bit. I'd parked near the entrance so that I could use the WiFi while I cooked the stuff I had bought. The car park was nearly empty at the time. I bet it was some fatty who should have parked in the far reaches to get some exercise. :)

well I hadn’t thought of that... although it happens with my car too ??‍♀️

Does anyone know how you can implement contactless parking in these situations? Some shoppers seem to practice parking by ear.

You need to post a photo of your van so we can see why nobody parks near you....
