Hymer
I’m sure I’ve seen this thread before but couldn’t find it just now.
Do I need to order a replacement Hymer rubber length to replace this? Looks like mine has shrunk?
Anyone know where I get one from?

I imagine it’s come unstuck so try new adhesive and very gently warm it up and push it back onto the new adhesive.
A couple of clamps would hold it while the glue dries. Ideal weather for doing the job at the moment. Good luck.

Looks to me like it just pokes into the slot. A drop of glue may help it stay.

It’s unstuck yes
But when you try to force it down it pops up elsewhere
Like it’s too short - or has shrunk…

We had the same issue on the front rooflight on our 2018 MLT.

The solution is to cut the strip in half the middle (I cant remember if I did top &/or bottom)
From memory the struts are screwed through the strip

Then feed it all back into the tracking, which will leave you with a 1" gap at the cut as the plastic has shrunk in the heat.

I've left the gap, I can't say I notice it.
But if you could get a 3" bit of strip from elsewhere you could tuck it in and no one would ever know.

As an aside, if you do find a source for the rubber strip, get several meters of the stuff, as every other modern Hymer owner has the same issue and would love to buy short strips from you at £5 incl P&P

On the photo it looks like it goes under the side strut bracket. Remove the bracket cut it, and get the one inch you require from under the bracket, or brackets.

Considering how much Hymer vans cost
That’s a bit shit really isn’t it?…

£21.12 for 4 metres from Hymer
I’ve bitten the bullet and ordered it
