Last February we initially thought we had a problem with the electric actuators on our electric drop down bed, the bed would not go go back up easily and bounced when it was up, it would not take any bedding with wanting to drop,.

We contacted SGS in February and replaced the gas struts with new supplied by SGS. Then put the actuators back on and hey presto, everything was working as it should. We've had a couple of nights away since then and everything worked as it should.

Today the wife tried to lower the bed to replace the bedding as we're off tomorrow for a couple of weeks, but the bed would only drop half way, I disconnected the actuators and I still had trouble getting the bed all the way down, so pulled the curtains off to get a better view on whats happening.

We got the bed down with a struggle, but it will not stay down and wants to go back up again. I cannot see anything amiss with the bed mechanism, everything looks as it should (although the actuators are disconnected), so basically the opposite of our original problem....any ideas ???

I've contacted SGS who wanted a video of the bed going down and back up as they thing we need to adjust the struts, I didn't know we could adjust the struts so I'm waiting to see what they come back with.

I used their struts for an unusual American RV replacement and the struts they sent came with an Allen key so a one second burst reduced the pressure by XX amount. They would have powered a guillotine at full pressure!

How did you ensure they had the same pressure in each strut, or, isn't it that accurate ?

One thing that did cross my mind was the original struts were 2400n the SGS replacement struts had 2500n stamped on them. Would a 100n make that much difference ?
