Hello guys! Currently looking for a new integrated camper and cant seem to decide which is better. Both are from around 2009-2010. I currently own a camper, but I'm not quite well-educated on campers overall. I'm really more attracted to the Exsis 512 because of its size and the option of being so short, but having two double beds (i dont mind sacrificing the other spaces, since the two double beds is what is essential for me). I would really like to know which chassis is better from this generation, the Ford Transit one or the Fiat Ducato. Which is louder on the road, which has more comfortable ride, which is more prone to rust, which is better for light off-road, fuel consumption, build quality, overall reliability. Im open to hear any feedbacks considering these two vehicles. Cheers!

Welcome. We have had 2 hymers both on Fiats, so can’t compare . Lots of knowledgeable peeps on here you will be inundated with replies. Think fords easier to steal, may have misremembered previous threads, it’s early xx

I use my exsis i414 most days as my daily. I wouldn't be able to do that so easily in a full width Hymer.

Personally I wouldn't worry too much about whether it's on a Ford or Fiat chassis.
Both will do the job, finding a good rust free one of whichever make it more.important.
Both are reliable if serviced property and both are rubbish off road. An incline and wet grass sees most fwd motorhomes struggle.
If your travelling with four up you'll need to check payload.
Good luck with your search, if you look in the resources section there's a very useful motorhome buyers guide which is worth a read.

Depends on which exact model & year of the B514 as to if it has an Al-Ko chassis with a double floor or Fiat with a single floor. The Al-Ko with a double floor would swing it for me. Both Al-ko and Fiat chassis will be galvanised. The Exsis on a Ford will be a single floor with a painted chassis, I don't think Hymer fitted a Al-Ko to the Ford.

Both around 2009. I think the ford is not fitted with Al-Ko, nor galvanised. The reason i would want a single floor chassis is that it would be a bit more higher off the ground. I was looking into options of fitting bigger wheels or suspension lift kit. I will be grateful if someone can acknowledge me if this will be of no issue for the camper and a safe mod. Also what are the pros of Al-Ko chassis and double floor (except being better for winter).

This is the one that caught my attention and specifically the mileage and the visual condition. Im talking off-roading more on dirt roads with not that much inclination. I now have an alcove Fiat GlobeR and it has been pretty ok for light off-roading going to relatively wild beaches, so i think this will be fine too. PS I'm not from UK, that's why not right direction.
