Hi Tech heads, my Kontiki came with built-in Internet, I'm using a Smarty data SIM in the Huawei MHWIFI Compact router. Its painfully slow, maybe 2 mbps, yet my iPhone uses the same SIM and downloads on hotspot are 50 mbps, what am i missing?

I have a Huawei B532 router with an iD mobile sim in my motorhome that is very fast. Do you have the app?

Huawei AI Life app? I have that, my phone is connected to Smarty, but the router connects to 3 (Same company) but I cant see Smarty when I search

I have found the same over the last year data appears to be restricted when you put the sim in a Mifi. Same with EE & 3 sims. In the phone getting 35 - 95 mb/s in the Mifi 6-12 mb/s.
I even splashed out £200 on a Telktonica thinking it was a problem with my Huawei, it was the same.
Always been OK in the past.

Have you tried contacting Motorhomewifi

If it has an external aerial try unplugging the aerial cables for a minute and then plugging them back in - works on mine but needs doing every few days.

didn't seem to make a difference, i removed the device and had it in the house away from the ariels, its still pants.

Have you checked the APN settings are correct for the smarty sim.

I'm fairly certain it's not an equipment problem but the networks that are restricting data.

I've found that the witchcraft involved with the mobile signal seems to get confused between the Huawei modem's external and internal aerial connections and resets them when either is disconnected. The operators seems to gradually throttle things down (unless the network is quiet) until I change from external to internal aerials and back again. No definitive proof of the hocus pocus involved but it seems to make a big difference when I do it

I am running a Huwawei 535 as a mobile router. The Router & iphone SE are both using the Vodafone network on 4G. Download speed on the router is currently twice the speed of the phone.

You could try logging in to the router homepage either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.8.1
