Would love it but beyond my price. If u get super desperate I can go £500 maybe £550 if your local

Aldi were selling one in store which has a decent spec and is very reasonably priced.

Why do people do this to for sale threads
I don't think Aldi sell Honda generators

You're absolutely right they don't sell Hondas - but not everyone has Honda money to shell out.

In defence of the Aldi one, it appears to be a cheap copy of the honda with a 3 year warranty

Hi,

Any warranty? I just missed one in the box unused for £800 with warranty

Be wary on Honda warranty. I have a new Honda 1,0i , only started to check ok, after a few more months (then over 12 months) tried it again and it wouldn't run under load so took it to Honda dealer who said it wasn't covered under extended warranty as it had not been serviced even though it had not been used.

Are you interested in buying the genny for sale?

No?

Then surely there is no need to post on it?

Bit ironic though because I just have... and I already have a Honda...

JJ

Would have been better placed in another forum for information for others and not in someone's for sale thread

I don't think Canopus has said anything wrong. Just stating a fact.
Had I been looking for a Genny I might have been grateful for an alternative choice. We all make decisions and choices in life as we see fit.

If someone is looking for a Genny at a third of the price, they were never going to buy the OP's one.
This discussion has one benefit for the OP, it keeps their thread at the top of the 'new' & 'recent' topics so might attract the attention of someone who might otherwise have missed it (y)
(At least there's been no generators are the devil's spawn posts... yet)

In fairness, I too actually own a Honda eu2000i generator, and I know someone who has just bought the Aldi one. Price aside there doesn't seem to be much between them IMO.

Lets face it most people keep a generator as standby power just in case.

I also had a Honda EU20i .. sold it ages ago.. hardly used.. kept it an locker for 3 years and only started it to keep it in order..

but lets face it, gennies are old fashioned, smelly, not really needed, and anti social .. there, I've said it.. spawn of the devil..

Solar is the better option.. except in the UK winter when they can't provide enough.. , but as most UK sites have EHU.. not an issue .. wild camping excepted.

Have to agree.. Anyone comparing cheap generators to Hondas is not comparing apples to apples. Racehorses to donkeys maybe but thats about it !

The generator here is likely the best of its kind money can buy ! Wish I had it !

Buy it then if you are that way inclined - put up or shut up as they say. Perhaps your payload would be compromised.

How to win friends and influence people ....................................................

If quietness is a major consideration the Honda is 53-59dB , whereas the one from Aldi is 69Db, making it about twice as loud.

Big difference on a quiet campsite, not so much at a festival and the like

Just reading all the replies! Just wanted to put something up for sale wasn't expecting a big debate about generators! All I know is that they are £1100 to buy new with a warranty and this one was brought this year in January from a chap who had a boat who had used it twice. He'd had it serviced before we brought it and we haven't used it and don't think we will need it now. It is in perfect working order and is not noisy. If anyone is interested please can they message me directly. Thanks.

Good luck.
I'm well known for not liking them  but this is as you say the best and least intrusive for sure (y)
If I needed one this is what I would buy, not for the benefit of other peoples sanity but simply because it will outlast anything else.

Really sorry you have had your post "hijacked" like this. Bad form indeed. If we did this to all things for sale there would be no point in having classifieds.

Didn't you just say that ? :)
