My Chausson 2020 711 has been on charge parked at side of house. I have Fogstar Lithium Battery, B2B. The main control board in the Hab area is switched on throughout and both vehicle and hab batteries have been well charged. I am in and out of vehicle regularly.
However today when I went in, the main control board in the cab area showed no on light! When pressed nothing!
I checked my Victron charger to see if charging ok - but no lights on it either - suggesting no 230 input.

The 230v is getting into to vehicle as other 230v items are ok and 230v Consumer unit switches are on!

Vehicle battery ok and connected to Hab battery by a Battery Master.

This problem has only arisen in the last week as all was ok up to then!

Any ideas folks?

Jim

Start at the start.
Is the socket on the house live?
Do you have 240v at end of lead?
Do you have 240v into consumer unit?

I have known consumer unit trip switches to appear to be on but still need resetting. You could try switching them off and back on to make sure.

Only suggest tinkering with 230v if you are sure they know what they are doing, even just checking if circuit is alive.

Yes 230v going into van and things like microwave working fine! Can’t understand though that even if my 230 charger has stopped working why my 240ah Lithium battery is not poewering the control board - given that all was ok 4 days ago!

Sounds like the battery may have switched itself off. Don’t know about Fogstar but some makes have a sleep setting that shuts the battery down when it has been idle for a while.

Yeah my Fogstar has but it is off and doesn’t switch on! It is usually on though and had been on recently!

If the battery has shut down I would try jump starting it from another battery. Some chargers will not send power to a battery that has shut down or gone into protection mode but it will need an electrical charge to reboot it.

That is helpful thanks - I will try that! I also thought of taking it a drive tomorrow to see if my B2B will charge from the alternator?

Having said that, should I not expect to see some life from my Victron Charger ( any lights on) even if the Lithium battery has shut down?

Sorry to join the chat late, what makes you think the battery is off, other than the controls panel not lighting up?
Are any 12v sockets / lights working?
Have you been able to put a multimeter across the terminals.
The fuse near the battery may have gone?
I would expect there to be some signs of life from the charger. Is it removable and could be plugged in to a domestic 230v to check it comes on, even without a battery attached?

Potentially, a charger fault has blown the 12v battery fuse

Thanks for your points. To answer your questions:

1. It is a Fogstar Lithium battery which shows on its app on my phone that it has no charge. The battery also has a button on it that when pressed brings the battery to life with a blue light showing.

2. No lights or any 12v things work in the Hab area (lights, pump, etc). They wouldn’t work anyway as the main 12v panel in the Hab area is dead and won’t switch on.

3. I haven’t yet put multimeter across terminal - will do that but app and blue light switch on battery as in item 1 above suggested a flat battery.

4. The battery has a trip switch fuse at each terminal and they are ok.

5. I too would expect some sign of life from charger - but it has been suggested elsewhere that the Victron Charger may not ‘fire up’ if it does not detect any life in the battery.

6. Not easy to remove charger but 230 feed to it is sound and its internal 40amp fuse is ok!

5. As stated in item 5 above the battery trip switch fuses at both positive and negative terminals are good!

That’s very clear. Thank you for your patience.
Pausim’s suggestion is the way to go then (jump starting). Can also be done by a dumb trickle charger.
If you are able to jump starting it with another 12v, that should also give the the opportunity to test the charger is working, and the control panel etc.

Hopefully simply a mofset alarm on the bms for under voltage 🤞. Can your Fogstar app show you the bms config? If not, the ziaoziang bms app shows all that diagnostic info
